Job Description

Hello from New Zealand (Aotearoa) “land of the long white cloud”

Calling all General Practitioners - VR & Non-VR GP’s and Urgent Care Drs!!!

Have you ever dreamed of working in New Zealand or even been a bit curious..!!?  Wanting a new adventure or change of scenery?! Then read on..!!

NZ is frequently recognised as a country which has one of the highest qualities of life in the world….not to mention our almighty “All Blacks” & where the “Lord of the Rings & the Hobbit” were filmed. Its lush green scenery, endless adventurous activities i.e. skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, boating, therapeutic thermal hot pools, spectacular native forests, thriving arts and film industry, safe environment, local’s friendly relaxed nature, and a safe work/life balance lifestyle, make it an attractive option for young people and families who are looking to find a new or a taste of temporary life down-under.

Still need convincing? “All three major cities in NZ get more than 2,000 hours of sunshine a year “ (compared with 1,600 in Ireland’s sunny southeast). NZ is surrounded by sandy beaches and covered in spectacular snow-capped mountains, fabulous clear rivers, beautiful lakes, great swathes of perfect for catching the morning surf or afternoon skiing! You will never get bored of exploring what this beautiful country has to offer!

As an Irish qualified Specialist GP – MICGP / CSTAR you are eligible to apply for registration under the MCNZLocum Tenens” pathway which has a 20 working day application process and enables you to work for up to 12 months. So, get a taste of living and working in NZ …. and then you can apply for Vocational registration if you decide you want to settle down in our fair country.

Non-VR UK and Irish GP graduates who have successfully complete their internships within the UK or Ireland are able to gain NZ registration within a “provisional general scope of practice.”

Our dedicated team at Julie Warner Health will help you through all the various processes, giving professional advice on relocation / immigration, coordinate your registration application with the MCNZ…..assisting you every step of the way!!

If keen to learn more, please drop us a note with all your questions & queries / wish list… to make your dream a reality!!

OR if this is not for you, please send this on to any of your GP colleagues who you think might be keen to venture down to New Zealand.
