This highly visible role is a hands-on position responsible for collaboration with members of the supply chain, sales, product management, and customer service team to achieve sales and service objectives.
Located at the point of order entry activity and hence close liaison with Customer Services, contributes to short-term demand phasing through analysis of order volumes v plan and feedback on abnormal demands.
Working alongside current Demand Controller, and knowledgeable in the principles of Integrated Business Planning; will collaborate to design process for managing demand control zone per Industry.
Monitors ‘forecast consumption’
Identifies and managers ‘abnormal demand’ including substitutions trading and allocations.
Input into inventory policies following customer order patterns and KPI achievement.
Duties and Tasks
Execute with excellence in the area of customer replenishment, and feedback to the Supply Chain group the opportunities and risks regarding customer performance metrics.
Create and maintain standard operating procedure for execution window of Demand Control.
Works with IM as appropriate, to design and implement system capability for managing the demand control zone.
Progress to Available to Promise methodology and system.
Create and maintain process document for Demand Control.
Continuous improvement of the process and support of business initiatives as required
Background in master scheduling, forecasting and/or demand planning.
Good business understanding, able to interact with Heads of Industries and chair both regular and ad-hoc meetings as business dictates.
Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities and ability to complete spread sheet analysis, develop and produce relevant metrics.
Excellent Communication skills - verbal and written.
Strong decision-making skills, ability to challenge and work on own initiative is essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of the business affecting the Demand Control process.
Experience using ERP systems and report writing tools.
Commercial or Engineering degree discipline an advantage
