Hospitality Course Tutor



Fixed Term Contract 10 months, 36 hours

Job Purpose

Tutors shall be responsible for the training and development of all learners on their programme in accordance with the agreed programme specification (PS), together with the day-to-day management and maintenance of all aspects of the programme. Tutors shall also be responsible for sourcing appropriate work placement sites and supporting learners on placement including liaising closely with employers

Minimum Education & Skills required

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in delivering accredited training on the National Framework of Qualification in the hospitality sector with relevant training body associated with the hospitality industry

· Train the Trainer Level 6 desirable

· An Assessor specific qualification e.g. City & Guilds TAQA Assessor qualification is desirable

· Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the Hospitality sector

· At least 2 years in management/supervisory experience in the hotel sector is desirable

· Experience of facilitating and implementing of individualised learning plans

· Experience of maintaining a focus on Health, Safety, Hygiene and good housekeeping guidelines in a training setting and ensuring best practice

· Experience of working closely with relevant employers in the provision of training

· Ability to develop individual learning plans with learners to support progression plans

· Ability to meet KPIs in relation to certification targets

Job Duties & Responsibilities

· Provide systematic training according to specified curricula across specified modules, maintaining all records required for effective monitoring of the learners progress.

· Maintain records of all training in accordance with both internal and external quality standards and producing reports on same, as required

· As a key member of the team, evaluate the progression needs of each learner and produce a profile of those needs

· Develop curricula and innovative interventions in co-operation with Programme Development

· Source appropriate work placement sites, support learners throughout their placement and liaise closely with employers
