We have some Machine Design - Automation roles in the Midlands with Solidworks experience. Our clients operate a state-of-the-art production facility as an exemplar of LEAN manufacturing in operation. Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of the R&D team to design and develop new products in line with Global Marketing product pipelines
  • Develop specifications, implement new designs, analyse and respond to customer feedback
  • Address risk management requirements / assessments for new and existing products
  • Excellent documentation for project reports, SOPs and operating manuals
  • Working to relevant international directives and standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum level 8 degree in Software/ Automation / Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering.
  • A Minimum of 3 years applicable experience
  • A good communicator, fluent English both spoken and written
  • An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
  • Can self-manage own Work Packages and deliver on time
  • Self-motivated, flexible, proactive and committed. Desire to continuously improve, raise standards, reduce errors and perfect processes

Key Technical Skills:

  • Equipment specification and selection (motors, PLC’s, HMI, sensors etc.)
  • Design and production of electrical schematics
  • Programming PLC and HMI systems
  • Machine Design and familiarity with relevant directives and standards

Advantageous Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of scripting languages
  • Knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical system design
  • 3D CAD (Solidworks)
  • Familiar with GMP
