Operational Buyer (Buyer Planner)

Our client specialises in developing innovative electronic, electromechanical and mechatronic products for the automotive industry. They are now looking for an Operational Buyer to support our client’s procurement activities.

The Role

As an Operational Buyer, you will support day-to-day purchasing activities to enable our client’s supply chain.

Working to support Senior Buyers, you will review and update orders on the SAP system and databases, prepare information for audits and issues RFQs, analysing results and preparing overviews.

Your role will involve:

- Creating samples and orders with suppliers
- Creating and maintaining tooling and sample orders on SAP
- Generating planned orders and purchase requisition reports
- Updating the supplier list and pricing
- Maintaining the vendor rating system

Other organisations may call this role Purchasing Administrator, Procurement Administrator, Procurement Co-ordinator, Engineering Buyer, Procurement Officer, Purchasing Officer, Supply Chain Planner, or Procurement Planner.

Job Requirements
About You

To join our client as an Operational Buyer, you will need:

- Previous purchasing experience
- Knowledge of mechanical components
- Skills in data processing
- The demonstrable ability to work on your own initiative
- At a minimum, a Leaving Certificate and a recognised business and/or administration qualification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and email
- Excellent numeracy skills

Ideally, you will have skills in negotiating, telecommunications and Microsoft Word, but this is not essential. The ability to follow process and update information on SAP, CDB and other systems would also be beneficial.
