 Project Engineer – Wind Farms

Due to ongoing success, they’re now looking for a Project Engineer to join them and provide high quality wind farm customer support and analysis. As part of your induction process, you will be required to spend the first six months of your employment at our client’s headquarters in Aurich, Germany.

This is a rare, exciting opportunity for an engineer with a background in renewable energy to take their next step with an international company offering the chance to play a vital role in a range of large-scale projects.

You’ll be provided with comprehensive training and development to ensure you are up-to-speed with our client’s products and processes and will spend time at their headquarters in Germany to support your induction.

As a Project Engineer, you will be tasked with providing customer support for site verification and energy yield estimation for wind farm projects across Ireland.

Specifically, you will assess the wind potential, wind classes and wind-related risk for each site and advise the Sales Department and customers.

This exciting role will see you working on national and international wind farm projects primarily for Irish, UK and Scandinavian customers.

Your role will also include:

- Evaluating wind measurement data to support site assessments
- Optimising windpark layouts
- Verifying wind parameters for wind turbines
- Creating 3D and CFD simulations for wind farm level
- Compiling analyses results
- Providing windfarm related customer support

To be considered, you will need:

- Experience in a similar project engineering role dealing with windfarms
- Good technical aptitude and proficiency in all MS Office packages
- An interest in working in an international and highly dynamic environment
- To be a Graduate of Engineering (mechanical and/or aerospace) or Science (meteorology, physics or mathematics) (or equivalent)

Positive, proactive and team focused, as a Project Engineer, you will also need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an organised approach and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Prior experience in using specialist software such as WindPRO, WAsP, Meteodyn, would be beneficial to your application. Previous experience of working in the wind energy sector would also be an advantage, as would German language skills, in addition to fluency in English.
