Rebuild / Repair Engineer
Rathcoole, Co Dublin

Finning is one of the world’s largest Caterpillar suppliers of construction, earth moving and power systems equipment. They are now looking for a Rebuild / Repair Engineer to join them in Dublin.

As a Rebuild / Repair Engineer, you’ll carry out a range of reconditioning and maintenance work on refurbished Caterpillar products to ensure they perform to Finning’s high standards.

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, you’ll perform in-depth inspections of machines, carry out standard diagnostic tests on components and produce lists of parts and materials needed to perform machine preparation work.

You’ll carry out overhaul, repair or refurbishment work on machines to the agreed work plan, remove and dispatch components for specialist attention and reinstall or replace parts.

Additionally, you’ll inspect and test completed machines to ensure they are operating to the expected performance levels.

To be considered, you’ll need:

- To have completed an apprenticeship or have a minimum of five years’ experience in a quality service environment within the construction plant or machinery industry
- Practical experience of operating construction equipment in confined spaces and mechanical fitting work on large-scale machines
- Practical knowledge of tooling and specialised equipment to conduct repairs on difficult and heavy machinery
- Practical knowledge of rigging, slinging and jacking procedures
- Electrical, hydraulic and mechanical fitting knowledge
- A deep understanding of the use of general service manuals and computerised Service Information System (SIS) from the OEM
- A licence to drive reach trucks

Flexible and organised, as a Rebuild / Repair Engineer, you’ll have a great eye for detail and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. You’ll also be a motivated self-starter with a strong customer focus and excellent prioritisation abilities.
