Around 40 IKEA Staff in Ireland Face Potential Redundancy
Approximately 40 Ireland-based employees at IKEA may face redundancy as the company looks to streamline management structures in some of its stores.
IKEA, which employs about 700 people across Ireland, said the proposed changes are part of its ongoing shift towards becoming a more efficient omnichannel retailer.
“As part of this evolution, we are proposing changes to simplify management structures in some of our stores,” a company spokesperson said. “This will allow us to reinvest in customer-facing roles and enhance the overall customer experience.”
The company confirmed the redundancy plans are still subject to consultation, and emphasized its commitment to supporting affected staff “with care and transparency” throughout the process.
As of now, the Department of Enterprise has not received a collective redundancy notification, which is required by law when 30 or more redundancies are proposed.
