Galway Tech Firm Mbryonics to Create 125 New Jobs in Major Expansion
Galway-based technology company Mbryonics has announced plans to create 125 new jobs as part of a major expansion of its operations in the city.
The company is opening a new manufacturing facility in the Dangan area, with roles to be filled over the next two years across engineering, production, sales, and marketing.
Founded in 2014, Mbryonics currently employs around 100 people in Galway and is a leader in the development of photonic satellite optical communications networks — cutting-edge technology designed to deliver faster, more reliable, and cost-effective global internet connectivity.
The company has developed advanced laser-based satellite communication systems, which significantly increase the volume of data that can be transmitted and accessed from virtually anywhere on the planet.
This latest growth phase follows several years of close collaboration with the European Space Agency and marks Mbryonics’ transition from research and product testing to high-volume manufacturing.
The new Galway facility will produce the company's flagship product, StarCom, with an annual capacity of 500 units.
Looking ahead, Mbryonics has also secured a site in Shannon for a second manufacturing plant, which will have the capability to deliver over 5,000 units per year, further expanding its production footprint and global reach.
