The country's unemployment rate increased to 4.8% in November, up from a revised rate of 4.7% in October, according to new Central Statistics Office data released today.

In November of last year, the unemployment rate was 4.5%.

According to today's CSO figures, the unemployment rate for men in November remained unchanged at 4.9% from the revised rate in October 2023, but increased from a revised rate of 4.2% in November 2022.

Women's unemployment rose to 4.6% in November from 4.5% in October, but was lower than the revised rate of 4.7% in November 2022. ​

According to the CSO, the seasonally adjusted number of unemployed people was 132,700 in November, up from 131,800 in October 2023.

The seasonally adjusted number of unemployed people increased by 12,600 in November 2023 when compared to the previous year, according to the CSO.

According to today's figures, the youth unemployment rate increased to 12.8% in November from a revised rate of 12.6% in October.
