Our client, Central Bus & Coach Limited, based in Kenagh, Co. Longford, is currently seeking Bus Mechanics for immediate start at their facility in Kenagh, Co. Longford.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- To assess and repair damage on a variety of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), buses, and plant machinery.
- To realign chassis, remove and replace damaged panels, and carry out fabrication and structural repairs.
- To operate equipment such as heavy-duty jigs, hydraulic presses, and welding tools.
- To conduct cutting, grinding, and MIG/MAG/TIG welding on steel and aluminium components.
- To carry out pre- and post-repair inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- To collaborate with paint technicians and workshop staff to complete jobs efficiently.
- To maintain accurate job cards and work reports.
- To adhere to health and safety standards specific to heavy vehicle repair environments.
Requirements: Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience in a Panel Beater role
- Experience with commercial trucks and plant vehicles is an advantage
- Candidate must be competent to carry out high-quality structural and cosmetic repairs on heavy-duty vehicles and machinery
- Panel Beater certification is a plus but is not mandatory
- Strong welding and metal fabrication skills.
- Proven ability to work on large-scale body structures and heavy vehicle chassis.
- Comfortable using diagnostic and measuring tools for large vehicles.
- Knowledge of body repair processes for articulated lorries, tippers, buses, and diggers.
- Experience with fibreglass and composite materials is a plus.
- Certification in welding or heavy vehicle structural repair is a bonus
Annual remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour
