Job Description

BrightWatt Partners is a dynamic and growing company operating in the renewable energy sector, delivering utility-scale solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Europe.
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead the sourcing and development of new project opportunities in the Irish renewable energy market.
The primary objective of this role is to identify and secure utility-scale PV and BESS projects in Ireland that are suitable for construction, EPC delivery or strategic cooperation.
This is a highly commercial, market-facing role focused on project origination, building a strong project pipeline and converting opportunities into concrete projects and contracts.
Your responsibilities
  • Identify and source utility-scale solar PV, BESS and PV+BESS projects in Ireland that are suitable for construction, EPC delivery or further commercial development.
  • Build and continuously develop a strong pipeline of potential projects across the Irish market.
  • Identify projects at advanced stages of development, including RTB (Ready-to-Build), late-stage development and projects approaching construction.
  • Identify project owners and developers who are looking for EPC contractors, construction partners or strategic delivery partners.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Irish renewable energy developers, IPPs, investors, project owners, asset managers and other relevant market participants.
  • Research and monitor the Irish renewable energy market to identify new projects, development pipelines, project transactions, upcoming opportunities and potential partnerships.
  • Track the development status of potential projects and identify opportunities where the company could participate as a construction or EPC partner.
  • Evaluate potential projects from a commercial perspective and determine their suitability for cooperation.
  • Initiate and lead discussions with developers, project owners, investors and potential business partners.
  • Develop opportunities from the initial contact through qualification, commercial discussions and negotiation.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, presentations, project overviews and business cases together with internal technical and commercial teams.
  • Work closely with technical, procurement and project teams to assess project requirements and develop suitable delivery solutions.
  • Support commercial negotiations and the preparation of EPC agreements, cooperation agreements and other commercial contracts.
  • Maintain accurate information on the project pipeline, opportunities, contacts and business development activities.
  • Monitor the Irish PV and BESS market, including competitors, project developers, market trends, regulatory developments, grid-related developments and investment activity.
  • Represent the company at relevant renewable energy conferences, industry meetings and business events in Ireland.
  • Contribute to the company's wider European business development strategy.
What we are looking for
  • Proven experience in Business Development, Project Origination, Sales, Project Development or Commercial Management, preferably within renewable energy, energy infrastructure or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of the Irish renewable energy market, particularly utility-scale PV and/or BESS.
  • Experience identifying and developing new project opportunities in Ireland.
  • A strong network among Irish renewable energy developers, IPPs, investors, project owners and other relevant market participants is a strong advantage.
  • Good understanding of utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS projects and their development and construction process.
  • Experience working with projects at late development, RTB or construction stage is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to originate new business opportunities, build a qualified project pipeline and convert leads into concrete commercial opportunities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to independently identify opportunities, initiate relationships and drive commercial discussions forward.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial and results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international and fast-growing environment.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of German, Danish or Swedish would be an additional advantage.
  • Willingness to travel within Ireland and occasionally elsewhere in Europe.
What we offer
  • High commissions for successful project acqusition
  • The opportunity to play a key role in the growth of an ambitious company operating in the fast-growing renewable energy sector.
  • Direct involvement in utility-scale PV and BESS projects in Ireland and across Europe.
  • A key role in building and expanding the company's Irish project pipeline.
  • The opportunity to develop long-term relationships with leading developers, investors and project owners in the Irish renewable energy market.
  • A high level of independence, responsibility and influence on the company's growth.
  • An international and entrepreneurial working environment.
  • Close cooperation with experienced professionals across the renewable energy, engineering, procurement and construction sectors.
  • Competitive remuneration based on experience and qualifications.
  • Home office / remote working opportunity.
If you have a strong understanding of the Irish renewable energy market, experience in project origination or business development, and the commercial drive to identify and secure new PV and BESS projects, we would be happy to hear from you.
We are particularly interested in candidates who know where new utility-scale projects are being developed in Ireland, who is developing them, what stage they are at and which projects may require an experienced construction or EPC partner.
Join our team and play a key role in building our PV and BESS project pipeline in Ireland and expanding our business across Europe.
