We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Consultant Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality acute and elective care services.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist Gastroenterology services across inpatient, outpatient, and endoscopy settings.
Diagnose and manage a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures in line with service requirements.
Deliver high-quality General Internal Medicine (GIM) care for acute and complex medical patients.
Participate in the General Internal Medicine on-call rota.
Work collaboratively with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, specialist nurses, and allied health professionals.
Contribute to the development and expansion of Gastroenterology and endoscopy services.
Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
Provide teaching, training, and supervision to junior doctors, medical students, and multidisciplinary team members.
Requirements:
Specialist registration (or eligibility for specialist registration) in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.
Experience in managing a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders and performing endoscopic procedures.
Strong General Internal Medicine experience.
Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Commitment to high-quality patient care, education, and continuous service improvement.
What we Offer:
The current Consultant salary scale ranges from €238,221 to €286,151 for a 37-hour week, with any additional work paid separately.
