A leading government-affiliated healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant Pain Management Specialist to join its multidisciplinary pain and rehabilitation service. The role suits a consultant with strong interventional and multidisciplinary pain management experience and a commitment to improving patients' quality of life for acute, chronic, and cancer-related pain.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consultant-level assessment and management of patients with acute, chronic, and complex pain conditions
Deliver interventional pain procedures within scope of practice, including but not limited to:
Epidural and facet joint injections
Nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation
Spinal and musculoskeletal pain interventions
Manage cancer-related pain in collaboration with oncology, palliative care, and multidisciplinary teams
Develop and oversee individualised, multimodal pain management plans, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches
Participate in outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and procedural lists
Work closely with anaesthetics, orthopaedics, neurology, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and psychology services
Contribute to service development, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
Participate in on-call duties as per departmental rota (if applicable)
Ensure compliance with local regulatory, ethical, and clinical governance standards
Essential Requirements:
Board-certified / specialist-registered Consultant Pain Management Specialist
Background in Anaesthesiology, Pain Medicine, or related speciality with recognised subspecialty training in Pain Management
Eligibility for Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) Consultant licensure
Minimum 3 years post-specialist / consultant-level experience in pain management
Proven experience in interventional pain procedures
Strong multidisciplinary and patient-centred approach to care
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
High standards of professionalism, ethics, and clinical governance
