Our client, Tank Pipe and Drain Longford Limited t/a Glancy Enviro, based in Clonterm, Co. Longford, is currently seeking Environmental Officers for immediate start at their facility in Co. Longford.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, permits, and regulatory standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental Management Systems (EMS), including ISO 14001.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and environmental impact assessments.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance indicators, such as energy use, waste management, emissions, and pollution control.
- Advise project teams on environmental risks, mitigation measures, and best practices.
- Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate environmental training and awareness programmes for staff and contractors.
- Respond to environmental incidents, carry out investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with local authorities, industry bodies, and environmental agencies.
- Support sustainability initiatives, biodiversity plans, and continuous improvement strategies.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have the requisite experience and knowledge to perform all job duties listed above
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Environmental Officer in a previous role
- A formal qualification is not required once the candidate has the requisite work experience in this type of role
- Experience working in an environmental or sustainability-focused role.
- Good understanding of environmental legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting or working with Environmental Management Systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
- Ability to carry out site inspections, audits, and environmental risk assessments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to advise teams on environmental issues and best practices.
- Knowledge of waste management, pollution prevention, and environmental monitoring.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to environmental protection.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different teams.
Annual Remuneration: €34,000.00; Pay Rate €16.77 per hour
