We are seeking a dual-trained Consultant in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine to join a large, busy acute teaching hospital in Ireland.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a progressive and expanding department, delivering high-quality care across both specialist infectious diseases services and acute general medicine.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team and play a key role in service development, education, and clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consultant-led care in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine
Participate in the acute on-call rota for General Medicine
Support the development of Infectious Diseases services locally
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Contribute to teaching, training, and clinical governance activities
Engage in quality improvement and service innovation initiatives
Essential:
Specialist registration (or eligibility) with the Irish Medical Council
Dual training in:
Infectious Diseases
General Internal Medicine
Experience working at Consultant level
Strong commitment to multidisciplinary and patient-centred care
