Avara Landscapes Ltd, one of Ireland’s leading landscape contractors specialising in high-quality hard and soft landscaping works across Leinster, Munster and Connacht, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, repair and safety of plant, machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the maintenance and repair of landscaping plant and equipment, including excavators, dumpers, ride-on mowers, strimmers, chainsaws, hedge cutters, compaction equipment, and associated tools used in hard and soft landscaping.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment meets required safety standards and complies with relevant Irish health & safety legislation.
- Conduct regular inspections, plan preventative maintenance schedules, and coordinate emergency repairs to minimise downtime on site.
- Train and oversee staff in the safe operation, handling and basic maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, servicing history and safety compliance documentation.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience as a supervisor or team leader in landscaping, construction or plant hire.
- Full clean driving licence (Category B as a minimum; C1 or C advantageous for van and light truck use).
- Hands-on experience with the types of machinery commonly used in hard and soft landscaping.
- Additional health & safety qualifications (e.g. First Aid, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent).
