Our client, Staunton Foods Limited, based in Co. Cork, is currently seeking Meat Processing Operatives for immediate start at their facility in Timoleague, Co. Cork.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
· To work as part of a production team within a busy meat processing facility, carrying out a range of manual and machine-assisted tasks involved in the preparation, processing, packing, and handling of meat products
· The role requires strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times
· Carry out meat processing tasks including trimming, cutting, deboning, boning, slicing, weighing, and packing of meat products
· Operate knives, tools, and basic processing machinery safely and efficiently
· Follow production schedules and work to line speed and output targets
· Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with HACCP and company procedures
· Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, and traceability requirements
· Carry out visual quality checks and report any defects or contamination concerns
· Handle meat products safely, including manual handling tasks
· Clean and sanitise work areas, tools, and equipment during and after shifts
· Comply with all health & safety policies, including PPE requirements
· Work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from Supervisors and Line Leaders
Requirements
· Candidates must be competent to carry out all role tasks listed above
· Candidates must have at least 2 years of previous experience as a Meat Processing Operative in a similar factory setting
· No formal qualification is required – experience is sufficient and further training will be provided on the job
· Ability to carry out meat processing tasks such as cutting, trimming, deboning, boning, slicing, weighing, and packing in line with production targets
· Competence in the safe use of knives, hand tools, and basic processing machinery
· Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced production line environment while maintaining accuracy and quality
· Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards, including HACCP principles
· Ability to consistently follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and supervisor directions
· High level of attention to detail to ensure product quality, traceability, and contamination prevention
· Willingness and physical capability to perform repetitive manual tasks and manual handling duties
· Ability to work in cold or chilled environments for extended periods
· Commitment to health & safety compliance, including correct use of PPE at all times
Annual remuneration: €30,000.00; Pay rate €14.80 per hour
Work Location: Staunton Foods Limited, Spittal Cross, Timoleague, Co. Cork, P72 PY90.
