On behalf of a well-established private rehabilitation clinic in Southern Norway, we are currently seeking a specialist physician to take on a permanent position with both clinical responsibilities and medical leadership.
The clinic is dedicated to the treatment of morbid obesity and long-term lifestyle change, offering patients a supportive, multidisciplinary programme aimed at sustainable health improvement.
This is a permanent position (minimum 60% full-time equivalent), with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact as both lead physician and core member of the clinical team.
About the role
As the lead specialist physician, you will be responsible for the medical quality and coordination of care at the clinic. You will work closely with a dedicated interdisciplinary team of nurses, clinical dietitians, psychologists, physiotherapists and activity coaches – all focused on helping patients build sustainable lifestyle habits.
Your key responsibilities
- Participate in intake evaluations, including health assessments and diagnostics
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust treatment plans
- Provide medical counselling on medication use, side effects, risks, and lifestyle change
- Maintain communication with relevant external actors in the patient’s home municipality
- Contribute to documentation, discharge reports, and interdisciplinary summaries
- Lead the medical team and hold personnel responsibility for the clinical department
- Take part in quality improvement initiatives and optionally contribute to research
Who we are looking for
- You are a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation, general practice or another relevant specialty (experience in public health or lifestyle medicine is considered a strong asset)
- You have authorization to practice as a medical doctor within the EU/EEA
- You have clinical experience related to obesity treatment, rehabilitation, or lifestyle medicine
- You are collaborative, proactive and patient-focused
- You are motivated to work in a structured, interdisciplinary setting
- You have good communication skills in English and are willing to learn Norwegian (language training will be provided).
