Job Description

Our client is seeking a Project Manager with a background in mechanical design and automation to lead and coordinate the delivery of custom automation systems. This role will involve close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and hands-on involvement in mechanical design tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with SolidWorks, a mechatronics background, and strong organizational skills. The client is open to both experienced profiles and more junior candidates with strong potential.

Mechanical Design

  • To carry out design of special-purpose equipment, robotic and automation systems

    • To manage design modifications and complete design approval with the customer

    • To create and issue mechanical drawings to correct international standards

    • To manage the cost-effective purchasing of materials and components

    • To compile the Technical File for the project including all necessary documentation

    • To support the project through problems and customer changes

Project Management

  • Collaborate with the management team to deliver successful projects

  • Lead project meetings, manage schedules, resources, and quality standards

  • Oversee build, testing, and completion phases

  • Travel (including internationally) to support projects and suppliers

  • Prepare internal and customer-facing reports

  • Develop business opportunities and respond to enquiries

  • Visit clients, understand requirements, and propose tailored solutions

  • Estimate labour, materials, and external resources needed

Job Requirements
Desired Skills, Experience and Capability
Knowledge of :

- Robots (ABB, Fanuc, Kuka) in automation systems
- Servo-systems and drives
Bowl and linear feeders, rotary tables etc.
- Printers, scanners, vision systems
- Mechanical materials, sizes and properties
- Proficiency in EU level machine safety and applicable standards (CE)
- Thorough knowledge of and proficiency in SolidWorks
- Additional requirements:
- Current passport & full clean driving licence (valid in EU countries)
