Polar Express Refrigerated Logistics of Westport, County Mayo F28 Y751 is looking for a refrigerated HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) driver who is responsible for transporting temperature-controlled goods such as food, pharmaceuticals, and other perishable products while maintaining the correct temperature throughout the journey.
Main Duties of a Refrigerated HGV Driver
- Conduct vehicle checks before departure, including refrigeration unit inspections.
- Load and secure cargo safely, ensuring goods are protected and temperature requirements are met.
- Monitor and maintain refrigeration temperatures during transit.
- Complete deliveries and collections according to schedules and customer requirements.
- Keep accurate records of temperatures, delivery notes, tachograph data, and vehicle checks.
- Comply with driving regulations, including drivers' hours, working time rules, and road traffic laws.
- Report faults or breakdowns of the vehicle or refrigeration equipment immediately.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are followed where applicable.
- Communicate with transport planners, customers, and depot staff regarding delivery status or delays.
- Carry out basic vehicle cleaning and maintenance checks to keep the truck and trailer in good condition.
- Use temperature monitoring systems and maintain audit trails for sensitive loads.

Annual Salary: €36,605 - €40,000 depending on experience, based on a 39-hour work week.
