Job Description

 

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Engineer is responsible for ensuring the correct interpretation of production and reinforcement drawings and for completing all pre-pour and post-pour inspections for Bespoke and Culvert products.

The role ensures that all products are manufactured in accordance with approved drawings, reinforcement schedules, and project specifications while supporting the Project Manager in maintaining quality, traceability, and compliance with project and CE requirements.

The Site Engineer acts as a critical link between design, production, and quality control, ensuring that all bespoke units and culverts are produced accurately, safely, and to the required standards.

Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Pour Inspection & Quality Checks
Carry out detailed pre-pour inspections on all Bespoke and Culvert units prior to concrete placement.
Verify:
• Reinforcement placement and spacing against steel drawings
• Formwork dimensions and tolerances
• Cast-in items, lifting anchors, ducts and inserts
• Compliance with approved production drawings
Confirm all pre-pour checklists are completed and signed off before concrete placement.
Identify and escalate any non-conformances or drawing discrepancies to the Project Manager or Design Team.
Post-Pour Inspection & Quality Assurance
Carry out post-pour inspections to verify that products have been cast correctly and meet the required specifications.
Check:
• Surface finish and dimensional accuracy
• Positioning of cast-in items and reinforcement cover
• Evidence of defects, voids or damage
• Compliance with drawings and project requirements
• Ensure any defects are recorded and addressed through the appropriate quality or corrective action process.
• Drawing Interpretation & Technical Verification
• Demonstrate the ability to accurately read and interpret production drawings.
• Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret reinforcement (steel) drawings, including:
• Bar schedules
• Reinforcement layouts
• Lap lengths and cover requirements
Structural reinforcement arrangements
• Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure drawings are clearly understood and correctly implemented on the production floor.
• Quality Documentation & Traceability
• Maintain accurate records of all pre-pour and post-pour inspections.
Ensure full traceability between:
• Production drawings
• Reinforcement drawings
• Pre-pour inspection records
• Product identification and casting dates
Support the preparation of project quality documentation and inspection records as required.
